Position: Monitoring and Evaluation Officer

POSITION:  Monitoring and Evaluation Officer.
TYPE: Renewable fixed-term contract, starting with 3 months.
LOCATION: Remote working.
COMPENSATION: INR 30,000-35,000 per month.

Purpose:

WAIC (Where are India’s Children) is working to ensure every eligible child in Child Care Institutions reaches the legal adoption pool and potentially reaches a forever family. WAIC’s flagship project is the technology-enabled fieldwork. This project is undertaken in partnership with State Women and Child Development authorities to assess the status of children in Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and determine the best next step for every child.

Role:

WAIC needs to continuously Monitor and Evaluate the impact made on the ground using the data collected by our fieldworkers at every stage of the project. So, we are searching for a Monitoring & Evaluation Officer to join our team. We seek candidates with a passion to work for the child’s right to a family, who believe that a family can be created through adoption and are excited about working in the Child Protection and Welfare space to establish and lead the Monitoring and Evaluation Function.

Responsibilities:

  1. Develop the overall framework, for project M&E, for example, mid-term project review, impact assessment, and final evaluation, and develop a project Performance Monitoring Plan with relevant data collection systems.
  2. Review the quality of existing data in the project subject areas, the methods of collecting it, and the degree to which it will provide good baseline statistics for impact evaluation.
  3. Develop baseline data for each project component and for all project indicators.
  4. Collect data on a regular basis to measure achievement against the performance indicators.
  5. Maintain and administer the M&E database; analyze and aggregate findings.
  6. Support project progress reporting, project mid-term review and final evaluation.
  7. Produce reports on M&E findings and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required.
  8. Establish robust M&E processes and policies at WAIC.
  9. Organize and undertake training with collaborating partners on M&E as required.
  10. Identify lessons learned and develop case studies to capture qualitative outputs of the project. Provide advice to the supervisor on improving project performance using M&E findings.
  11. Produce reports on M&E findings and prepare presentations based on M&E data as required.
  12. Provide the Project Manager with management information as and when they may require.
  13. Check that monitoring data are discussed in an appropriate forum and in a timely fashion in terms of implications for future action. If necessary, create such discussions to fill any gap.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  1. Any Graduate with a data sciences, and data analytics background, and with a passion to work for the well-being of children.
  2. A minimum of 3 years of professional working experience in an M&E position with an NGO or a for-profit organization.
  3. Competency in MS Office ( especially Word & Excel), Google Docs & Sheets, and Google Drive.
  4. Fluency in reading and writing in English.
  5. Experience in child protection space is preferable but not necessary.
